~mother's day~teacher's day~

this sunday is mother's day. i've already posted mother's day card to my mum yesterday. hope it'll arrive on time. i've also enclosed two teacher's day card to two of my most favourite teachers (cikgu hamsiah and cikgu jah). they were my primary school teacher's and they are also my mother's besties. so, i am really closed with them. for me, they're most than just teachers. they are my mentor, my sifu, my jedi master and so much more. they still guide me long after i finished primary school.

oh, i also just wanna wish happy teacher's day to all my other primary school teachers (cikgu hashim, cikgu kamaluddin, cikgu zuraidah, cikgu zaitun, ustaz yunos, cikgu hayati, cikgu junaidah, my mom and all sekolah kebangsaan sepinang's school teachers), my secondary school teachers (cikgu shimah add & kh, cikgu apen, ustazah bariah, ustazah suwaibah, mr zack, cikgu yusof marsidi, cikgu zulcapli, cikgu kang and all the rest of science tuanku jaafar kuala pilah's teachers), my a-level and dsh lecturers at uitm (miss yap, mr huang, mr sudad, frau jutta etc), my fh lecturers eventhough i didn't finished my study there (herr gebhard etc) and to all my current and future teachers! thank you for the knowledge and guidance.

tomorrow i'm going to MERCY's emergency response unit (ERU) at mercy HQ in dayabumi complex on 7.30am. so i planned to take erl from putrajaya to kl sentral at the earliest possible moment. from kl sentral i'll take putra to cm. if i'm not mistaken, this ERU usually cost rm150, but mercy done it for free. after ERU, i planned to go for basic mission training (BMT) next. bmt is a must for volunteers who want to work abroad. on sunday, i'll go to work first and after that i have to take my OUM modules at jln tun ismail, near PWTC. ooh, talk about working on weekends, we are supposed to get paid overtime. unfortunately, i didn't get my payment yet. a lot of my colleagues have receuved theirs. if this continue (late payment), i probably won't work on weekends anymore, huhu.... i think that's all for this entry, until later... muahs!

[SONG] Dude Herlino ft Asmirandah - Bunga-bunga Cinta

* tak pernah terlintas di benakku
saat pertama kita bertemu
sesuatu yang indah tumbuh dalam gundah
harum dan merekah

** tulus hatimu buka mataku
tegar jiwamu hapus raguku
membuncah di hati harapan dan suci
menyatukan janji

reff:
bunga-bunga cinta indah bersemi
di antara harap pinta padaNya
Tuhan tautkanlah cinta di hati
berpadu indah dalam mihrab cinta

repeat **
repeat reff
repeat *

memboncah di hati harapan dan suci
dalam mihrab cinta

weddings, weddings, weddings and more weddings!

wow, what a year this 2011 is and will be.. it's only march and i've received quite a number if invitations already. not to mention the upcoming weddings. okay, let me put a list on my friends' wedding (roughly). most of them consists of my secondary schools' pals:
  • april : boleng
  • june : fariz, fadhil, krol (vads)
  • october : mozac & keju (both are stjrians 99)
  • november : yuyut & ismas (again both are stjrians 99)
  • december : aesah
  • january 2012 : syed
i have this stupid plan. to write down all the list of my secondary schoolmates' names and then scratched out the names of the married ones or planning to get married soon. after that, i want to count the numbers of the unmarried ones, just for the fun of it! hehe, not to mention as a reminder for me to get married as well.

here's a story about me and marriage. long ago, i planned to get married by the 25 (to follow sunnah). then, 25 flew by and nothing happened. so, i increased it by 2 years and still nothing happened. so, now i just go with the flow. if there's truly someone out there for me (which i believe there is, since Allah has determined a person's mate and death from the beginning), maybe he'll come in an unexpected ways. maybe he would fell from the sky (it's raining man, hallelujah!), maybe he could be anuar zain (oh, how i wish this would be true) or maybe he's just in front of me all along and i just didn't realize it.

reading all those novels have made my imagination go above and beyond. the movies doesn't help as well, hehe... talking about movie, i just saw one with aesah at klcc after jobong's wedding earlier today. hikayat merong mahawangsa. considering it's local, it's outstanding. by the way, yesterday is earth hour. i couldn't wait to see jennifer aniston's new movie with adam sandler, 'just go with' it next week. i'm currently reading 'the present.' it's written by the same author who wrote 'who moved my cheese?' and i plan to read dr m book soon. but lately, i found myself always searching a lighter sort of materials to read. i'm in a 'simple-light-reading phase.' so, the last thing i read before the present is a malay children book entitled 'mencari pohon emas.' nice...

have i mentioned before that i joined mercy malaysia. i didn't have the chance to do any charitable things yet since i'm new. i just went to their voluntary induction program earlier this month. from as long as i remember, i always imagining myself doing charitable works. please focus on the word 'imagining'... imagining and actually doing it is two very different things. the things i usually imagine involved helping at orphanage and old folk homes. i used to go to this one old folk home in cheng, malacca before. but, now i couldn't find the time. maybe it's just me making excuses. but the few times, i went there, it was heartwrenching <~ is this a word?! to watch all those elders, left there, unwanted by their children. everytime i went there, i cried. not too hard, just the slip of a tear or two.

there's this one 'pakcik', i couldn't even remember his name ('hampas' me), he called me fatimah. no matter how many times i tried to correct him by saying that my name is actually syaheema, he still call me fatimah. he remembers me the few times i went there. his story is a little different compared to the other elders. he volunteered to stay there since he didn't want to be a burden to his children, eventhough his children didn't see him as one. he got a regular visits from his children. if you guys never went to any old folk homes before, please do so. you'll appreciate your parents better. looking at them, waiting for their children to visit them only to be dissapointed or watching their friends got visits with such longing eyes, is sad indeed. couldn't describe it well here. you must go there and experience it yourself.

well, it seem that i have went far from the subject at hand. as a conclusion (the after-effect of writing assignments, must have introductions, contents and conclusions), a lot of my friends will be getting married this year.so, i wish them all the happiness in the world!
