Baucar Buku 1 Malaysia (BB1M)

BB1M or 1 Malaysia Book Voucher is one of my favourite perks of being a student. others include student price for movies, bowling, karaoke and many more. so, who's saying that being a student doesn't have its advantages? so, here's  the chronicles how i get and spend all my BB1M in only a few days.

1. i went to get my voucher from OUM during lunch on the 14th april 2015. the total value of the vouchers is RM250.

2. this time around, we need to fill in our names, ic numbers and phone numbers before the vouchers could be verified by the university person. (there are a lot of cases where the BB1M receivers misused the voucher by selling it to a third party).

3. i always spend my vouchers at this one bookstore (kinokuniya) which i considered as my favourite bookstore. there are variety of books that hard to find in any other stores and the prices are somewhat cheaper. furthermore, i'm a member and i get 10% discount on all books.

4. since i would only be free during the weekend, i first survey the books that i want to buy online. i could get the prices (so i could estimate) and the shelf locations of the books. and you should verify the vouchers at the customer service counter before you could use them.

5. so, on that saturday after games of bowling with my secondary school's friends, i rushed to klcc excitedly. once parked, i went straight to the fourth level and stormed into the store. i executed my mission successfully (i need to pay extra for i bought comics and entertainment magazines) and below are the catch of that day.

in store price: RM83.92
KPC price: RM75.53

in store price:RM70.20
KPC price: RM52.65 (25%)

same as online price

in store price: RM71.30
KPC price: RM64.17

same as online price
RM20.80
RM27.00
RM7.42

in store price: RM12.00
KPC price: RM10.80

so, the final amount that i paid is RM298.70 = RM250 (book vouchers) + RM48.70 (cash).

destination: chiang mai, thailand

this year, we chose chiang mai as our holiday destination. i can't remember if i've mentioned this before; miss a and i plan to conquer south east asia before we go any further. we've been to MALAYSIA (naturally, hehe..), ho chi minh city VIETNAM, siem reap CAMBODIA, singapore SINGAPORE and bukit tinggi INDONESIA (only me). so we are left with THAILAND, MYANMAR, LAOS, BRUNEI and PHILIPPINES.

why chiang mai? not krabi, phuket or bangkok? there are a couple of reasons actually. one, we planned to go to chiang rai to visit the golden triangle (where three countries; thailand, myanmar and laos met). second, we were influenced by this one television show, destinasi bajet and third, we're not really (actually it's me) a fan of islands. this one episode of destinasi bajet featured chiang rai and the golden triangle. so, we noticed the opportunity to kill two birds with one stone a.k.a visit laos or myanmar as well...

as usual, we planned the trip early in order to get cheap flight tickets. our trip was from the 27 march until 30 march 2014. this time, miss a and i were accompanied by my office mates; yati and fiza. our previous makan angin members are all married. seriously, ALL OF THEM!!! haha, so miss a and i made a conclusion that we are some sort of 'marriage magnet' that work on all of our travel mates but doesn't work on us. we even told yati and fiza, be prepared to meet 'the one' soon. of course, we see this as a joke since jodoh is in Allah's hand. below is our flight details and ground tour itinerary.
