yup, i'm officially 30 today!

finally, i'm 30! i still feel like i'm in the twenties. sometimes, i couldn't believe myself. i'm already 30. when i was still in school, doesn't matter either primary or secondary, i always thought that 30 is such an old age and t will take quite some time for me to reach it. tick tock tick tock, how time flew and now i'm 30 already. in my mind now, 50 is such a long way to go. but then again, it will happen soon! if only Allah allows me to live that long. we never will know what will happen in the future.

how am i feeling right now? nothing much different from when i'm in my twenties. feeling a little bit old and still couldn't quite believe it! since we stopped growing taller, changing classes and so on, we didn't felt much different right? maybe we start having wrinkles, forgetting things often, tire easily, don't have much enthusiasm and energy as before and the list go on. you also notice that you prefer music in the 80s, 90s and even oldies compared to the now hit songs! i prefer to listen to hitz.fm before, but now i prefer mix.fm.

you also will see the children around you are growing in age and in height. since, i don't have my own kids, i notice it in my nieces and nephews. i remember helping my brothers and sisters taking care of their children; changing their diapers, feeding them, bathing them, carrying them and so much more. now, all of them had grew up and some are even taller than me.

btw, here are five signs you're acting like a middle-aged facebooker (adapted from the book 'you know you're middle aged when' by alison rattle & allison vale):
  1. you can't wait to sign in each day and get unduly excited when you receive a friend request. unfortunately it's usually a case of mistaken identity.
  2. you overuse pointless applications, spending an inordinate amount of time throwing vampires, tungsten screws, sheep, cupcakes, pregnant teenagers and an awful lot of hugs to people you haven't set eyes on for over twenty years.
  3. your profile picture is a photo of your child and your albums have titles such as 'first bath' and 'first tooth!' (guilty as charged, huhu! instead of my children, make it anybody children)
  4. your status updates tend to go along the lines of 'maria is doing her tax return' or 'paul is peeling potatoes.'
  5. you have eight friends, of which three are colleagues, one is your other half and the rest are borrowed from your kids.

basic communication in japanese course

hajime mashite, ema-desu..
yeah, finally i was accepted into attending this course from 14-18 january 2013. i've been applying for it since 2010, huhu.. it's like one of my dream come true! this course is organized by INTAN and INTENGAH is responsible for all the language course. other language courses that are offered include english, mandarin, cantonese and arabic. i think if i managed to attend all the japanese course offered, i want to go for arabic next. this japanese course has four steps and this basic communication is the first step.
essential needs
we have about 30 students in class and altogether three teachers, tan-sensei, loh-sensei and lai-sensei. first, we learned the pronounciation and basic greetings from loh-sensei. than tan-sensei took over the class with continuation from basic greetings. they also taught us about numbers. lai-sensei taught us a bit of everything. it was fun to learn a new language especially the language you are interested in. in my case, japanese and spanish! oh, lai-sensei also taught us origami. we learned to fold crane and sweet box. but, i have a picture only for the cranes.
the colourful cranes
after three days of class, we were divided into groups of three to do some role play act. we have to come out with a 3-5 minutes scene by including all the things that we have learned. tan-sensei recorded all of our acts seperately and we got to see them all together. it was fun and a little bit embarassing at the same time watching our own act. oh, here a picture with all of us together.

btw, i took these five days of course to get a revenge on my attire! since, i have to wear uniform to work, i took the chance if these five days to wear the 'baju kurung' i haven't got the chance to wear. i usually only wear 'baju kurung' when attending weddings, kenduri and such. i have to admit that i have a lot of 'baju kurung' collection since my size haven't change much these few years, alhamdulillah. every raya, i will have at least one made or bought. and below is the result of my 'baju kurung' revenge, hehe..

my 2012 recap

happy new year! as usual, at the beginning of the year, i will have new year resolutions. if you compared my new year resolutions these past few years will be the same, hehe.. so, i wouldn't have to write this year resolution here. if you search my blog, you'll find it on every first entry of the year. so, i think i better write my 2012 recaps.

happy things
  • two very interesting vacations with friends; vietnam and cameron highland
  • my aunt finally got married at the age of 46
  • increase in salary
  • being a little bit active in presstij and making friends
  • bought lots of books during BBW 2012
  • many small things that made it worthwhile
  • joining quite a few runs/walks
sad things
  • lost both my grandmothers
  • haven't finished my final degree thesis
  • lost my phone
  • increase in medication again
there are many other sad and happy things that i may have forgot. what i wrote above is only the few things that really have big impact to my life. okay, here are some of things that i really would have done this coming year.
  • finish my thesis so that i finally can get my degree. honestly, if i finally have this degree, it would certainly help boosting my self confidence level.
  • try to do more charity jobs. last year, i hadn't join any charity job. at least in 2011, i've joined a few with mercy and yayasan salam. so. i'm planning in actively participate in charity work. maybe try on a few new one like 'soup kitchen' by mixfm.
  • trying to be less burden to my family especially my parents by being more independent.
  • loving my current job more so that i could work with more sincerity. and in sincerity comes the joy and the meaning of it.
  • stop being wasteful. no more buying things that i don't need ie clothes, shoes, books (finished the one that i got) etc.
  • save more money by being thrifty. insyaAllah, want to perform 'umrah' when saving is enough.
  • live a healthy life; eat right, exercise regularly, smile a lot, less stressed etc
  • and many more that i couldn't write and share here for it might be private. ^_~
