my graduation day

alhamdulillah, i am finally, officially graduated on my convocation day at PWTC last saturday. it was happening so fast, i couldn't really absorbed the feeling of being graduated. it was OUM 15th convocation. i was in the second session (evening session) that started on 2pm. my parents came along with my two bestest friends, hawa and miss a.

we went there with my parents'car and arrived at PWTC around 12 noon. i told my parents to get into the hall first while hawa and miss a helped me with my robe and all. around 1pm, hawa and miss a went to a different hall where the live broadcast was. i gathered with the rest and finally entered the hall at about 2.15pm.

i brought in my current book, with only a few chapter left and managed to finish it while waiting for everything to end. it ended around 5pm and we went back to putrajaya. unfortunately, there was a very heavy traffic after mines toll, barely moving at all. we made a u-turn and went to ampang (mak wang's house)  instead. we only arrived back at putrajaya around 11pm.

on the next morning, we went to the studio to take formal graduation picture. my parents paid the bill as a present for my convocation. talking about convocation presents, i got a few! a lovely bouquet of flower from hawa and miss a, a nice pink wallet from kak sya (actually, kak sya just gave me money so that i could get anything i want, a thoughtful 'congratulation on your graduation' from abg ain's broods, a cute calendar and a few 'body shop' items from kak ala. abg ain and abg ijan also want to treat me to dinner. so, please enjoy the pictures below.

favourite couples (books to movies)

nowadays, there are a lot of movies that are adapted from books. some of them includes harry potter, percy jackson, twilight and hunger games. and in each books/movies, i have my favourite couples. let me introduce them to you.

harry potter series
i read harry potter before it was translated into movie. so, everytime the movies came out, i already know the stories. if i remember correctly, i read harry potter non-stop until the fourth book, harry potter and the goblet of fire but have to wait every year for the new book to come out. the waiting is really a torture! in harry potter, i have two favourite couples and i think you can guess who the are. yup, it's non other than harry and ginny and ron and hermione.

ginny and harry
hermione and ron
percy jackson series
same as harry potter, i read the books before the first movie came out. honestly, in the first movie, we (miss a, hawa and me) were a little bit disappointed since the storyline changed quite a lot. the most obvious differents is annabeth's hair. it should be blonde not brunette (according to the book). and miraculously, the hair changed to blonde in the second movie. maybe, a lot of fans (book) complained, hehe.. my favorite couple in the series is also a non-brainer. of course, it is percy and annabeth!

percy and annabeth
twilight series
as in twilight, i watched the movie first and only then, i read the books. both of my bestest buddies, miss a and hawa had already read them. so, i just borrowed the books from miss a. in twilight, my favourite couple is not the main character but alice and jasper. to be honest, i don't like bella and edward much, hehe..
alice and jasper
hunger games series
same as twilight, i watched the movie first. only then i read the books. i only read the last book, mockingjay but watched the first two movies. in these series, i like non other than peeta and katniss. since, from the first movie, i didn't like gale much. after watching the second movie, the first thing i did after arriving home was to grab my copy of mockingjay and opened up the last few pages. i just want to know with whom katniss ended up with and i jumped gleefully, finding out that it was peeta (sorry for spoiling the story for you)! yup, katniss ended up with peeta! furthermore, i don't like liam hemsworth much after he left miley. poor miley going 'unstable' after that.. all you ever did was wreck me..

sense of direction

Sometimes, i'm amazed by my own sense of direction. If i'm planning to go to a certain place, i usually end up at the total opposite direction of the place i intended to go in the first place. For example, yesterday i went to ikea. Getting there wasn't a problem at all since i've been there a few times before. But the way back is another story entirely.

Usually, when i went to ikea, i used the plus highway to go there and then LDP to get back to putrajaya. This time around, i wanted to try using the plus highway to go back instead. I think i made one early turn and guess where i ended up at? In front of the subang airport! On the bright side, i know what subang airport looks like these days..

I then followed a signboard to putrajaya, only to miss a turn and ended up at federal highway. In the end, i still use the LDP to get back. You might say that i should use the navi apps that are easily accessible this day. Well, i did used them and i still ended up lost! i couldn't follow the instructions well. when they say, turn left in 400m, i will automatically turn left immediately.

well, i always end up at the right place anyway. no matter how many wrong turns i made, no matter how many hours i took, how many petrols i used, alhamdulillah, i always find it in the end. i think that getting lost would give us a few good things such as knowing a new route, stumbling on a fantastic place that you would never know if you're not lost and the never give up attitude. this can be applied to life itself..

ps: another moral of the story is, don't ever ask me for direction unless you're really sure i'm familiar with the place you want to go.. otherwise, you'll be lost as well..

current things i'm looking forward to..

how time flew! we are almost entering yet another new year in one month time. there are a lot of things and events this year. some of them are happy memories and some of them are the sad one. and these are some things that i'm currently looking forward to!

1. Big Bad Wolf 2013

Okay, this biggest book sale in the world will be happening again this year beginning on the 6th december 2013, which  is on next friday. this year, it will be open 24/7. miss a and i had already planning on going there at midnight to avoid the crowd. hopefully, not all people had the same plan we did. really couldn't wait for this event eventhough i have to admit that i haven't finished reading all the books bought in the previous BBW.

2. My Graduation Day

Alhamdulillah, finally i can officially known as a university graduate. After almost 6 years of studying (2 years just to finish my thesis, hehe..), i can get my diploma certificate. hopefully, by receiving this cert, my application to further my study at upm would be accepted. oh, if i forgot to mention this before, i've already applied master of corporate communication at upm. i only gave them my transcript but they still want the diploma cert. my graduation is on the 14th december at pwtc.

3. Siem Reap Trip

we are going to siem reap on february next year! by we, i mean miss a and i. siem reap is one of my 'wish list place to visit' because of the infamous angkor wat. we planned this trip by ourselves. we planned the ground tour, we searched for hotel and we searched for our own guide. hope everything fall in place accordingly..

4. Seoul Trip

and on march, i will be going to seoul, korea. this time with hawa. actually, this trip was initiated by hawa, since she was hoping to watch shinhwa concert that probably be held during this time. the asia super showcase that included shinhwa was cancelled. this concert was supposed to take place in kuala lumpur a few months ago but was cancelled because of  some 'political issue.' so, another trip that i'm really looking forward to.

okay, those are a few things/events i'm really looking forward to! beside these coming good things, there's on thing that made me sad. my sister's maid, putri, had gone back to her hometown in bukittinggi, indonesia for good. she's more than just a maid for me, she's like a little sister that i could tell almost everything. we shared lots of good and bad memories together. i'm wishing her all the best in everything she does.

losing things

automatically used the picture from my mykad (11 yrs ago)
these last couple of weeks, i keep losing things. the first things that i lost was my hospital appointment book. i usually keep it in my wallet but it wasn't there when i want to check the date for my next appointment. after losing my appointment book, i lost my office access card. i lost it when i felt at my office parking lot. i have to make a police report in order to get a new one. last but not least, i lost my driving license! and last wednesday, i have to wait almost the whole day to acquire a new one..

PRESSTiJ futsal challenge 2013

this year, the tournament was held at sports centre, dataran sunway. same as last year, i was one of the committee but the different was, this year i could watch the matches of my batch since abang khalid had helped from a professional judges, referees etc.. so, the updates was done by cikgu samsul and we just did some updates for online viewing a.k.a facebook.

this year, more teams competed. the were 13 teams for the senior (40's and above) and 19 teams for the junior, total of 32 team. even my batch send two teams this year, 99Ners X and 99Ners Y. i arrived early and the sport center and 'set up' the place (tables, chairs, board, etc) while waiting for the other organizers to arrive. the kick off started on time, 10am.

one of our team managed to get to the final and we got 2nd place. i think they could accept the fact that they lost 4 to NIL since they were against the team that is 5 years younger than them, hehe.. the event finished at around 5pm. couldn't wait for the match next year!

kudos to us!
the final results
congratz team!
we're presstij!

my active lifestyle..

here's an entry on my active lifestyle. just kidding, i'm more to couch potato instead of energizer bunny. i just love my bed and pillows. but, i do sometimes leave my static form and move to my kinetic form. and here are the proofs of it. the first event i joined which is on the 28th april is the 'World Day Run & Carnival 2013." As usual, we joined the shortest route of all, 5km which is the Fun Run category.

the next event is the 'Putrajaya Race for A Cause' on the 23rd of June. Again, the distance is only 5km. 'World Hunger Relief 2013." amongst all the run, i love the world hunger the most since it had the best goodie bag! we also get a free meal before the run. we can choose between kfc, pizza or rasamas. the distance as you can guess is again 5km, hehe.. and to add to that, i've met anuar zain live!!! he performed for the event with few other artistes such as, sleeq, najwa latiff, black and hafiz.

we then joined the 'BSN Night Marathon 2013.' it was drizzling when we started but then the weather was fine and breezy. eventhough we ran at night (first night run event), we still sweating heavily. the longest distance for this marathon is 42km and the time frame given is 6 hours for the participant to finish it. the marathon started on 8.00pm, so it ended on 2.00am.

and the latest and most challenging event i joined is the 'Larian 10K Gaza.' it was challenging because of the 10km distance. it was the furthest run for me. before this, i only run the 5km distance. i even doubted myself, whether i could make it or not. alhamdulillan, i managed to finish the run less than my estimated time. iwas aiming for two hours and i made it in one and a half hour time!

i was supposed to join 'World Diabetes Walkathon' on 10th november but i had to attend another event, 'PRESSTiJ Futsal Challenge 2013' at kota damansara. all of these events were held in putrajaya except the gaza run which was held at wangsa walk mall. the world diabetes was held at dataran merdeka. there's another two upcoming run which is the 'Tesco Walk for Life' at UM on 17th November and 'Team Malaysia Fan Run' at putrajaya on 1st december 2013.

and the journey continues...

great first experience
you must be wondering, which journey i meant right? well, it's my journey in music. remember my entry on my musical journey? i did mention about attending a ballet performance, coppelia. really am sorry for the late review. since, this is our first ballet performance, we are truly awed and amazed. maybe, we didn't understand the ballet body language, expression and all, it's still very entertaining and we vow that we would go for it again.
usual pose before the show
and a few days ago, we went to another musical performance at petronas philharmonic hall. this one is dedicated to the late king of pop, michael jackson. this performance involved a singer (he's famous in US, but unfortunately, we malaysians doesn't know him). it was very energetic, captivating, amusing and fun. we clapped and danced to the song. my favorite song is of course, thriller!

holiday again, yay!

13//09/2013 (friday)

our anticipated holiday for 2013 is finally here! do you realize that each time i wrote about holiday, i inserted the word 'anticipated?' well, it's true! everytime i spent my precious time with my beloved friends is an anticipating moments. i finished my japanese course at about noon. i picked up miss a at midvalley megamall since it's near to my intengah, where my japanese course is held. along the way, at r&r serdang, we picked oleen up ad the journey to the south began...

since hawa got some business to attend to, we stopped at jpo (johor premium outlet) and i got quite a great bargain for charles& keith shoes there. i only paid RM15.70 for originally RM200 price. after done with jpo, we continued our journey to felda air tawar 5 and had dinner. we arrived at hawa's place at around 10pm. we went to bed early for tomorrow, our destination, the legoland awaits!

14/09/2013 (saturday)

legoland malaysia map
finally, my dream to come to legoland came true. we bought both the ticket to legoland and universal studio singapore at a travel tour agency months before. we got it a little big less than the price bought on D'day. when we arrived, the carpark was only 1/4 full. at the entrance, we were welcome by the legoland staffs who took our first picture.
L for legoland!
our first ride is the 'dragon's apprentice'. i had to be honest that this was the scariest ride for me at legoland. its path was not as adventurous as the other rollercoaster, 'the dragon.' but since, it is divided into smaller carts, i felt a little bit insecure because of the jerking movement. after that first ride, we walked around and took picture and then had our lunch at knight's feast.
with jester the clown
done with lunch, we continued our journey and took a ride in the observatory tower. it was like the taming sari tower in melaka. we could saw the breathtaking view from up there. after that, we tried the 'kids power tower.' please ignore the word 'kids,' hehe.. it was a tough ride, actually. you have to pull a rope to get up and then let go of the rope when you reach the height you want. i think the time given is maybe 5-7minutes and you can pull yourself up as many times as you manage within this time. i only went up twice, huhu..
views around legoland
we took a ride on the the 'legoland express.'it just a train that circled around the legopark but the queue was outrageous. we had to wait almost an hour for this ride. after the ride, we went to the '4D movie experience.' there are four movies altogether and we got to watch the one about secret agents on a mission of retrieving an important parcel (sorry, i forgot the title). you couldn't choose what movie to watch. you just went with the movie played during your turn. our last and most exciting ride for the day is the 'dino island where we got to get ourselves wet!
some of the models at miniland
done with the ride, we went exploring the miniland which hold all these amazing lego miniature of many famous places such as our own klcc and kl tower, angkor wat, taj mahal, china forbidden city and many more. there are many cute and interesting lego miniature all around legoland park. for me personally, legoland is more suited to family with small children since the rides and attractions are more focus to young children. i think, the legoland could improve more by providing more indoor rides given the rainy season here. done with our legoland, we went to johor bahru and dinner at an amazing restaurant, the 'carabao.'
various cute lego models
15/09/2013 (sunday)
our ferry ride to singapore
again,we started the day early for we had a ferry to catch! this is our first time, going to singapore by ferry. we chose to travel this way since it's the most convenient method from hawa's house.the ferry terminal injohor is called tanjung belungkor and the one in singapore in called changi ferry terminal.the ride is about one hour. we re quite thrilled for the ferry ride.
back again to USS with different companions
we called a taxi upon arriving and went straight to uss. this was my second trip here, same with miss a but a first time for hawa and oleen. we stored our bags in the locker provided and went straight to our first ride of the day, my personal favorite that is the 'transformer's ride.' the queue was already long but it was worth the wait. the weather is a little clouding and it was drizzling most of the day. so, rides such as the 'human'and 'cyclon' ride were closed.
smile for the camera peeps
okay, let me just summarize our activities at uss. the rides we took were revenge of the mummy, enchanted airways and sesame street spaghetti space chase. we had our lunch at mell's drive-in (we got discount coupons when we bought our entrance ticket and it was worth it!) we got to watch monster rock, waterwold adventure and mell's dinette. we did our shopping (yeah, i managed to buy the hard rock cafe bear) and went straight to our hotel (the same hotel miss a and i stayed before, amrise hotel) via bus and mrt.

16/09/2013 (monday)
bugis street and singapore flyer
on our second and last day in singapore, we went shopping first at bugis street. right after that, we went to singapore flyer. this time, miss a and i managed to see the view more clearly since our ride this time is during the day instead of the night. and we got the whole 'pod' to ourselves. since we got some ample time before our ferry ride back to malaysia, we went to orchard street and found my favorite bookstore that is the kinokuniya. hawa bought a few books since she wanted to finish the singapore dollar she had.
our ferry ride back to malaysia
done with everything, we took mrt to changi airport and from there took a taxi to changi ferry terminal. on our ferry ride back to malaysia, we managed to stay on deck and took ala model photos. with the breeze blew slowly and romantically, our skirts, hairs, clothes etc just go with the flow, hehe.. and that was the end for our malaysia and singapore holiday. miss a, oleen and went back to putrajaya the next day.

ps: a few days after our trip, we received a sad new from hawa.. her mother went to rahmatullah on 23rd semptember.. al-fatihah..
