12th Malaysia General Election

Source: Berita Harian
woooaah, finally the general election is over!!!! and the result is quite a shock to all of the malaysians especially to the BN. the opposition manages to take over 4 new states and even with all the campaigning in kelantan, PAS still won easily. the government can wave kedah, penang, perak and selangor goodbye. huhuhu, eventhough i'm not an expert in politics, i still want to express my view. i have the right to voice my opinion although it's CERTAINLY NOT expertly done.

truthfully, i grew up in a family with strong government aka BN values. so, it's plain to see that i'm a strong BN supporter eventhough i know it's not perfect. but, admit it, no party will ever be 100% perfect. it must have flaws here and there. we cannot expect something impossible. i'm from johor and johor is always consider a 'safe-state' and a strong fort for BN. johor always manage to take a clean sweep in every single election. but in 2004, we lost 1 state seat to PAS when the opposition won on nomination day when the BN candidate was disqualified. this year we lost 1 parliament seat and 6 state seats!!! safe eh?! strong eh?! not anymore. so, may this be a lesson to the BN leaders not to take the 'safe-state' label for granted anymore! the same situation also happened at kedah, perak and shockingly selangor! for me, when penang fall to the opposition, it's quite expected. i don't know why, i just can feel it...

hehe, one thing that is quite funny for me is that the opposition promised to lower the oil price if they won. that's something out of their power unless they plan to subsidize more than our government is giving now. whatever!!! we can see a lot of new faces especially MB for selangor, kedah, perak and CM for penang. lim guan eng is said to be the new penang's CM while khalid ibrahim the new selangor's MB. it maybe a good thing for BN when they didn't win 2/3 majority. it will open their eyes to take things more seriously. and perhaps the oppostion can make more improvement and development to the country... only time will tell i can't wait to see what's the future hold for us...
