best day at work, yet!

salam.. today is the best day ever at work for rhis year yet! wanna know the reason? ok, let me you the reason. i was working as usual, entering datas for passport application when suddenly my computer 'hang.' it's not unsual that my system went 'berserk' but it would be okay in a few minutes. if it is not okay within that few minutes, it means that our server is down or we just usually call it 'off-line.'

so, i told the poor girl i was entertaining that time that we are having problem with our server. it usually will not take long. the longest 'off-line' we ever had at our putrajaya office is 1 hour to 2 hours. i told the girl to just wait at my counter. but, another unfortunate event (to the public at least, but a very 'fortunate' event to us) occured. BLACKOUT! again, blackouts or power trips are quite usual at our office since we always overuse the supply. then, one of my senior officer made an announcement that indicates this blackout is not the usual one.

the announcement is,'to staffs who parked their cars near the power supply generator, please remove them because there's an explosion with the circuits!' one of the car is mine since it's my usual spot, near the generator. we all rushed to the basement only to see our cars is covered with dust. no, not dust! but dry powder from the fire extinguisher. we moved our cars and went back to the office. we made the announcement regarding out 'blackout problem.' we also mentioned that we didn't know when it will be fixed. we advised the public to go back first and try calling us in the afternoon to ask whether the problem is fixed or not.

when the people were gone, most of our staffs also gone missing. majority of them went to wash their cars. i stayed and read the book that i brought along. ah, i have this habit of bringing reading materials to the office since i usually arrived early. i read while waiting for the office to operate on 7.30am. and i think today, i changed my profession from immigration officer to telephonist momentarily. the phone kept ringing and i kept answerinng. after lunch, my boss told me that the maintenance told her, they couldn't fix the problem by today and the earliest time that they could fix it is tomorrow. so, again we told public that we are done for the day, around 2pm. sharp 4.30pm, i went back and brought my car to the car wash.
